TILT CONTEMPORARY ART
History of Tilt.
Dr. Manfred Krautschneider established Tilt in 2002, opening Tilt Contemporary Art gallery to provide a much needed outer eastern Melbourne venue for art lovers and artists. The gallery quickly gained a reputation for its exciting, high quality artists, reflecting it's demand for innovation in one or more of medium, concept, or style, and Manfred's study of artists and galleries in New York, Europe, Asia and Australia.
The gallery opened in Ferntree Gully and three years later relocated to Belgrave, in the Dandenong Ranges tourist precinct of outer eastern Melbourne. After another three years in this beautiful but culturally conservative area, The gallery closed, and Tilt moved to The Gold Coast, Queensland and began, from 2010, to rely more on world wide web based auctions, consultancies, and sales.
The emphasis is still on the modern, the adventurous, and contemporary themes and practices. The art works can be enjoyed on art historical, cultural, social or personal levels. The occasional exhibitions and the web sites provide a forum for work that stimulates discussion, and the emergence of new ideas.
