About TILT CONTEMPORARY ART

Dr. Manfred Krautschneider established Tilt in 2002, opening Tilt Contemporary Art gallery to provide a much needed outer eastern Melbourne venue for art lovers and artists. The gallery quickly gained a reputation for its exciting, high quality artists, no doubt reflecting it's demand for innovation in one or more of medium, concept, or style, and Manfred's study of artists and galleries in New York, Europe, Asia and Australia.

In March 2007 the gallery moved from Ferntree Gully to Belgrave, in the Dandenong Ranges tourist precinct of outer eastern Melbourne. Nearby galleries include Monash Gallery of Art in Waverley, and Burrinja Gallery in Upwey.

It represents professional artists at an affordable price.

The emphasis is on the modern, the adventurous, and contemporary themes and practices. The works can be enjoyed on art historical, cultural, social or personal levels. The exhibitions provide a forum that stimulates discussion, and the emergence of new ideas.
